Talent, Rock 'n' Roll, and a Desert Island

I have a berry special announcement for you today. 20th Century Fox is releasing three DVDs in the next three weeks.

On August 5, travel to an uncharted island and meet an enchanted young lady named Nim. Abigail Breslin brings a tale of adventure and courage to life in Nim's Island.

In the study guide I created, you'll investigate:
  • trying new things
  • courage
  • the provision of God
I enjoyed working on this project and discussing the issues brought to light with my kids.

Download the study guide from FoxFaith.com.

On the same day, that crazy cat Garfield defends his status as the king of the comic section of your Sunday paper. But he's loses his funny in the moments before Garfield's Fun Fest. Will Garfield defend his title?

This study guide takes a look at finding and growing your natural talents.

I invite you to download the study guide from FoxFaith.com.

A week later, on August 12, Strawberry Shortcake gathers her friends and starts a band. And, like every band in the history of rock and roll, the band has some relationship problems. Will the band get together in time for the show?

Find out in Strawberry's Rockaberry Roll.

This study guide creates a special time for moms and daughters to discuss:
how the body of Christ works together
why practice is important
how to make a joyful noise

Enjoy the study guide by downloading it here.

You make a living by creating words for use by evangelical organizations, but I doubt your god would approve of your use of commonly understood racial stereotypes. You claim to be a story teller, but a true storyteller would intuit immediately that the "humor" in your waffle box owes a great deal of its energy and impact to images of Aunt Jemima. You were obviously too lazy or meanspirited to go beyond the racist pancake imagery, so instead of doing the work to find a novel or arrested image, you settled for the easy slur.

Does your god call you to spread known falsehoods along with racial stereotypes? You know as well as I do that Obama is not and never has been a muslim. If you spent a moment using your so-called god-given talents as a storyteller to try and imagine who Obama really is, you'd realize that he's a part-time/holiday Christian who made the admittedly cynical decision to become more devout in order to achieve higher public office. Which is to say, he's just like 90% of the Republican party.

The muslim storyline may excite you and your hypocrite friends, but a real story teller would be able to its underlying weakness. Muslims have much more in common with you and your fundamentalist ilk than with secularist progressives like Obama, but you are too blinded by racism to see that. If your god exists, he will ask you about this incident, and what will you say to him? That it was okay to lie about a fellow citizen and to make use of racist imagery in order to achieve your political aims?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Anonymous,
I could not have said it better. Thank you so much!!! At the end of the day, God is in control and he will take care of all of this. He just wants to see how far people will let the devil use them. Know that this was for the love of money which is the root of all evil. A Christian would not do anything just for the sake of making money. I just wish that 1 time in this great country of AMERICA that what is stated in the constitution could really be lived by all. Mark and his friend Bob would be the first to say that this was totally harmless. When you go before your maker, I would love to be there to hear what you tell him about this. If you are not ashamed of yourselves, you should be.
